Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MyFridge AI iOS application (“the App”) provided by me, the developer (“I,” “me,” or “Developer”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

  1. Acceptance of Terms
    You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have authority to agree to these Terms.
  2. Changes to Terms
    I may update these Terms at any time. If I make material changes, I will notify you in-app or by email (if you’ve provided one). Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
  3. Description of Service
    MyFridge AI helps you track the food in your refrigerator and pantry by:
    • Reading grocery receipts you photograph and turning them into fridge items, using Anthropic’s Claude models
    • Predicting realistic expiration dates and suggesting recipes based on what you have, using Anthropic’s Claude models
    • Looking up scanned barcodes against the public Open Food Facts database
    • Letting you sign in with your phone number or with Sign in with Apple, via Firebase Authentication
    • Storing the fridge items and history you create in Google Cloud Firestore so they sync across your devices
    • Sending you optional local reminders before items expire
  4. Account & Authentication
    • Phone Login: Verified via Firebase Authentication (SMS).
    • Apple Sign-In: Uses Sign in with Apple; I only receive the name and email you choose to share.
    • You are responsible for maintaining the security of the device and Apple ID used to access the App.
  5. Subscriptions & Billing
    Some features (AI expiration prediction, receipt scanning, barcode scanning, and recipes) require a paid “Pro” subscription. Food tracking itself is free.
    • Pro is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the Apple App Store. Where offered, it begins with a free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription.
    • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
    • Manage or cancel your subscription any time in your Apple ID settings. I do not process or store your payment card details — Apple handles all billing, and RevenueCat manages your subscription status.
  6. License & Restrictions
    I grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple device you own or control. You agree not to:
    • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code
    • Use the App in violation of any law or third-party rights
    • Interfere with the App’s security or operation, or attempt to circumvent usage limits
  7. Third-Party Services
    The App relies on the following third-party services, each subject to its own terms:
    • Anthropic (Claude AI models, for receipt parsing, expiration prediction, and recipes)
    • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore database, and Cloud Functions)
    • Open Food Facts (barcode product lookups)
    • RevenueCat and Apple (subscription management and billing)
    By using those features, you also agree to the applicable third parties’ terms.
  8. Disclaimers
    • General: The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind.
    • Food Safety: Any expiration dates, freshness estimates, or recipes generated by the App are AI-generated suggestions only and may be inaccurate. Always follow the date printed on your product packaging and official guidance such as the USDA Food Safety Guidelines. Do not rely on the App to determine whether food is safe to eat.
  9. Limitation of Liability
    To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any illness, loss, or damage related to food consumption.
  10. Indemnification
    You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from any claims or liabilities arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms.
  11. Termination
    I may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any reason, including breach of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from within the App. Upon termination, the license granted herein immediately ends.
  12. Governing Law
    These Terms are governed by the laws of Colorado, U.S.A., without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Denver County, Colorado.
